Ghana Interbank Payment and Settlement Systems (GhIPSS), a subsidiary of the Bank of Ghana, and partner institutions have embarked on public education to raise awareness and encourage patronage of the Universal Rapid Response Code of Ghana. Ghana for payment.

Speaking on the development, Mr. Archie Hesse, Managing Director of GhIPSS, congratulated the institutions that have commissioned the service and expressed hope that other players in the industry would speed up their processes to enable customers to take advantage of the service. service.
Institutions offering GhQR include Vodafone Cash, AirtelTigo Money, GCB Bank, Absa Bank, Access Bank and Cal Bank and Fidelity Bank.
Mr Hesse said the GhQR is a contactless payment method, which makes it very ideal in the era of the coronavirus pandemic, as it ensures that customers and merchants observe physical distance.
Mr Hesse said the campaign will continue and urged the public to patronize the GhQR payment service.
The payment service allows customers to scan displayed QR codes with their smartphones and pay, or to dial USSD codes displayed with their phones to complete payment.
Ghana’s QR code for payment is universal, which means any customer whose bank or payment service provider offers the service can use it anywhere they move.
“Anyone who has ever used a phone should be able to easily use the QR code, and after scanning or dialing the code, you can see the transaction details to be sure they match the amount to be paid and who is being paid, before to collect to pay, ”Hesse explained.
He added that this feature gives customers great confidence in knowing that the right transaction has been completed.
