The Minister-designate of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mr. Ibrahim Awal Mohammed, indicated that the government was ready to invest some $ 20 million to make Ghana a film hub in West Africa.

He told Parliament’s Appointments Committee on Thursday, February 25, 2021 that the government is also considering setting up cutting-edge music and film studios in the country.

“We want to build a film and music studio.

It is an element that can increase the tourism potential of this country.

“We don’t have a serious studio in this country, so that’s one of the first things we’re going to do.

“The film studio will contribute to music and film production and make Ghana the hub of film production in West Africa,” he said, adding: “We intend to invest 20 million dollars to make Ghana a film hub in West Africa, ”he noted.

Mr. Mohammed also said that, once accepted, local TV content will be promoted to project Ghanaian culture through the tourism and creative arts industry.
