The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have warned that anti-vaccination messages abound on social media and urged those eligible to receive beatings. The royal couple took part in a video call with members of the UK public to promote the benefits of the COVID-19 vaccine. They spoke with families who admitted to being nervous about getting the vaccine after reading false information online, and they also used the call to try to encourage more people to get the vaccine.
According to images released by the royal couple, Prince William said: “Social media is sometimes inundated with rumors and misinformation.”
The couple spoke with two clinically vulnerable and eligible women for the first jabs soon. In a clip, a woman called Shivali, who suffers from type 2 diabetes, said she had read numerous social media posts that made her “a little nervous” about getting the vaccine. Prince William, however, responded by saying that she just had to be a little careful where the information came from.

The Duke of Cambridge added: “Catherine and I are by no means medical experts, but if it is any consolation we can wholeheartedly support vaccination, it is really, really important”.
The prince went on to say that so far the use of the vaccine has been “unbelievable”. He said the task now, however, is to make the younger generations feel that it is really important for them to have it. Additionally, the royal couple also spoke to Fiona Doyle and her daughter Ciara and echoed the same.

Queen says vaccine ‘didn’t hurt at all’
Meanwhile, the Duke and Duchess video comes after the Queen, 94, urged people to get vaccinated. Prince William echoed his grandmother in speaking publicly about the vaccine. The Queen had directly called on the British public to be vaccinated, stressing the importance of “thinking of others”.
Queen Elizabeth had said the vaccine “didn’t hurt at all” when she received it in January, along with Prince Philip. She had said that those who feared receiving the blow, “should think of others rather than of themselves.” It should be noted that the royal family has spoken out as health officials have expressed concerns about the declining participation of ethnic minority communities.
