The Kaduna state government said on Sunday that bandits had killed seven people in different parts of the state.
Mr. Samuel Aruwan, the Commissioner for Internal Security and Internal Affairs, confirmed the incident in a press release in Kaduna on Sunday.
Aruwan said, “On a sad note, security agencies reported that bandits attacked some people in Kajinjiri village, Igabi local government area, and killed two residents.”
He said one person was shot and was receiving treatment at a nearby health facility.
“Likewise, in the village of Rago, also in the Igabi local government area, bandits killed two residents,” he said.
He explained that in another incident, gunmen stormed the Kutura station in the Kajuru local government area and killed three residents.
The commissioner said Governor Nasir El-Rufai took note of the information with sadness and expressed his condolences to the families of those killed in the two attacks, while offering prayers for the rest of their souls.
He also wished the injured victims of Kajinjiri village a speedy recovery.
