Bobby Lashley will have the opportunity to become world champion on Monday night, a feat that has eluded him for more than 15 years and two stints in WWE. Lashley will face WWE Champion The Miz in this week’s Raw Main Event from the ThunderDome at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida.
The Miz won the WWE Championship at Elimination Chamber, taking advantage of then-champion Drew McIntyre defending the title inside the chamber and an attack from Lashley to successfully cash his Money in the Bank contract and win the title. The following night, it was revealed that Miz had promised Lashley a title in exchange for McIntyre’s attack, giving Lashley the chance to win the title as WrestleMania looms on the horizon.
Lashley spoke to CBS Sports ahead of the title opportunity, citing a newfound confidence after a few stumbles early in his return to WWE in 2018 as central to his recent success. Check out the full interview, which includes Lashley’s thoughts on Miz as a top talent in the WWE Universe.
