Ghana Rugby Football Union chairman and board chairman Herbert Mensah said his team have performed more than 400 Covid-19 tests on their players and officials.

According to him, this is to ensure that “everyone in sport is free from the virus and strong enough to participate in training and other activities of the association.

He said of the 400 tests, about 15 have come back positive but have recovered after weeks of isolation.

The sports administrator added that companies are now no longer investing in sports due to the hardship the pandemic has brought them, but Ghana Rugby has made sure to maintain constant relationships with the sponsors.

Addressing the issues related to the arrival of the Covid-19 vaccine, Herbert Mensah announced that the Ghanaian government has acquired vaccines for the country as the move in the right direction is certainly the issue of vaccinations.

Former Asante President Kotoko has indicated that the many conspiracy theories surrounding the vaccine are all designed to scare people.

The Ghanaian businessman, however, praised the government led by Akufo-Addo for acquiring the vaccines and ensuring that the majority of citizens are all vaccinated.

“We are lucky to have such a leader,” he noted, adding that “I understand from the experts that the vaccine is safe and good.”
