Rupert Everett opens affair with Paula Yates

Rupert Everett said he felt “no guilt” in directing an affair with Paula Yates while she was married to Bob Geldof.

The actor, who is gay, opened up about the six-year relationship for his Piers Morgan Life Stories episode which will air Thursday.

In a video clip, Morgan notices that the The wedding of my best friend The star was involved with the late TV presenter “before, during and after” her relationship with Geldof.

“We’ve been very, very close, I have to say, for a long time, and he’s someone I adored and still adore,” he says.

When asked if he was in love with her, he replies, “I think I was in love with her. I adored her.”

Another part of the clip sees Morgan asking, “How did you go up against Bob in all of this?” Everett says he “just ignored it.”

As to whether he felt guilty for continuing the relationship while Yates and Geldof were married, he said, “No, I don’t know, I think it would be her to feel guilty, not me. “

He has previously discussed the relationship, telling The Guardian in 2009, “She was married. I was gay. These constraints worked as a kind of safety net… We were both narcissists. We both liked to act. and we loved to be watched. “

Yates and Geldof married in 1986 after ten years together, but divorced ten years later in 1996.

They had three daughters, Fifi, 37, Pixie, 30, and Peaches, who died of a heroin overdose in 2014 at the age of 25.

Yates shared another 24-year-old Heavenly Hiraani Tiger Lily with INXS singer Michael Hutchence.

He committed suicide in 1997 while Yates died of a heroin overdose just under three years later in 2000.
