Social media users have expressed mixed reactions to a decision by President Akufo-Addo of March 3, 2021, which dismisses Auditor General Daniel Yaw Domelevo.
Mr Akufo-Addo’s directive concerned requests from the Audit Service Commission indicating that Mr Domelevo had reached his retirement age in June 2020.
However, taking to social media, some Ghanaians have described the president’s decision as an action that erodes the fight against corruption, while others take a different view.
The former auditor general had taken an accumulated leave of 167 days, before returning to be greeted by the news of his ineligibility in the labor force of the country.

Dear Professor Dua Agyemang, if Domelevo retired in June, yet you convinced the president to force him to go on leave in July and you paid him for no work done, shouldn’t you and your council administration, be retained for financial reasons. loss to the state? Phew!

Domelevo: So many people are over-aged on the payroll. When the curtain falls, it’s time to leave the stage; Ghanaians don’t know that. They falsify birth certificates to stay under the age of 60β¦ .. pic.twitter.com/kSGu3gP1NE

βI urge you to be citizens. Citizens, not spectators β. But when you want to be a citizen, it makes you a spectator.
No wonder this speech was one of the most embarrassing plagiarized speeches. But what smell is the rot that Domelevo cannot be allowed to work and retire in June? π€ pic.twitter.com/NAp9vwTATA

Mr. Domelevo, God bless you for caring about the interests of the ordinary Ghanaian.
It cost you your job, but you can be proud of it.
I had my concerns after your appointment at the end of 2016, but you proved me wrong.
Sorry to judge you even before you take office π€ pic.twitter.com/kxikU3Ynl9

In February 2021, the Audit Service Commission wrote to Prez telling him that he should replace Domelevo as he was considered retired. Heeerrr Ghana. I thought they said he would come back after 165 days of mandatory leave? So why is it always the sheep who are questioned about their nationality in Ghana?
