IBM has launched a one-of-a-kind cloud computing lab in the UK, designed to help partners realize the benefits of the cloud.
Specifically, the lab will help IBM business partners get into cloud technologies and gain the sales and marketing skills needed to take advantage of the market.
Partners heading to the new Cloud Computing Lab at the Hursley IBM Innovation Center will be able to access a range of IBM cloud computing technologies to develop and test new cloud services.
Industry experts will also be on hand to help partners develop “a go-to-market plan,” Big Blue explained.
By harnessing the power of the cloud, partners can access the new lab from any of IBM’s 38 innovation centers around the world, working virtually with experts at the Hursley site.
“Our business partners are ready to take advantage of cloud computing, and they are looking for hands-on assistance from IBM to generate new business opportunities,” said Jim Corgel, general manager of independent software developer and publisher relations at IBM.
“The new Cloud Computing Lab will help our partners acquire the skills they need to build next-generation business applications and services for the cloud using IBM technologies.”
Big Blue stepped up its cloud solutions this month and launched a range of cloud security offerings last week.
This included a cloud computing security assessment that compares a company’s cloud solution security programs against industry best practices and customer-defined cloud security goals.
