A week-old baby boy was on Thursday March 4, 2021, found dead and abandoned in Teshie in Accra.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Effia Tenge, chief of the public affairs unit of the Accra Regional Police Command, said on Thursday, March 4, 2021 at 9 a.m., Teshie District Police received reports that someone had abandoned a baby between two kiosks in the Teshie Muji park area.
She said the district commander and some officers attended the scene and found a baby boy, about a week old, wrapped in a black polythene bag dead, with no visible signs of violence.
Police said the body was taken to the police hospital morgue pending autopsy.
She said investigations were underway to identify the boy’s mother.
