The toxic initial decision by members of the parliamentary minority in the National Democratic Congress sitting on the Parliamentary Appointments Committee (PAC) not to approve the nominations of dynamic and competent ministerial delegates such as Ms. Mavis Hawa Koomson, Mr. Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah and the Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto was clearly both mistaken and fraught with morally irresponsible partisan political ill will. One need only review the performance record of these three candidates, and the others as well, to come to the definitive conclusion that the above cabinet appointees are absolutely unparalleled among those appointed by the cabinet of previous John ” Akonfem- Kanazoe ”Government of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) led by Dramani Mahama. So, of course, this is nothing less than an inexcusable farce for Mr. Kwesi Pratt, editor of the so-called Insight newspaper, to so savagely accuse the parliamentary representatives of the NDC in the PAC of having royally betrayed the interests. from both parties. members and supporters, as well as supporters, and the nation as a whole (see “Kwesi Pratt attacks NDC leadership in Parliament” Ghanaweb.com 3/5/21).
Rather, what unrepentant political and ideological charlatans like Mr Pratt, once publicly and bitingly disowned and fiercely denounced by leaders of the Rump Convention People’s Party (r-CPP), should do now is congratulate effusively the nation otherwise – shipwrecked Haruna Iddrisu Gang for finally doing what the party voters and the voters and sympathizers of the Democratic National Congress, who offered them their sacred mandate to represent them in our National Assembly, eagerly awaited to ‘do them all the time. Which, of course, is above all about putting the biggest and most pressing interests of the nation as a whole ahead of the parochial partisan interests of these bogus Socialist MPs, who have done absolutely nothing meaningful or constructive. to advance the progress and prosperity of the Sovereign Democratic Republic of Ghana.
There is absolutely no denying the fact that as Minister of State for Presidential Special Development Initiatives (SDI), Ms. Hawa Koomson performed well above and above the kleptocratic level of Mr. Alexander Segbefia, the Minister of Health appointed by Mahama, who literally took the Ghanaian taxpayer to the cleaners by importing empty shells from motorless vehicles into the country in the dubious name of ambulances, about 300 of them, at a prohibitive price that should have sent Mr. Segbefia to Kwame Nkrumah College of Moral, Political and Civic Re-education, also known as Nsawam Medium Security Prison. Well, the good news here is that it is not yet too late for the Attorney General to vigorously prosecute Mr. Segbefia, if only to deter future cabinet and executive members of the National Democratic Congress. to destroy the nation. who perhaps envision the same criminal course of official corruption and blatant civic and moral misconduct.
As we all well remember, under Ms. Hawa Koomson’s tenure as Minister of State for Presidential Special Development Initiatives, the National Ambulance System (NAS) was significantly upgraded to the level of a world-class, world-leading system. and status. Ms. Hawa Koomson also led the “One Village, One Dam” project in the northern half of the country, a project that proved to be much more effective than the guinea fowl scandal that characterized the mimicked Mahama mess that was so- saying Savannah Accelerated Development Authority (SADA), which has turned out to be an ethno-regional gravy train for SADA board members exclusively from the north and descendants of the north.
Likewise, as Minister of Food and Agriculture, Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto has dramatically improved the level and quality of food production and preservation in the country in an unprecedented and d ‘in a way that the leadership of the National Democratic Congress could hardly understand. It was the historic nightmare that desperately drove the National Executive Committee (NEC) and the so-called Functional National Executive Committee (CEPN) of the Democratic National Congress to suspend progressive supporters like Messrs. Bernard Allotey-Jacobs and Samuel Koku S. Anyidoho, for having maturely and objectively praised the phenomenal achievements in national development of President Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the ruling New Patriotic Party in areas of national development as crucial as the education, health, agriculture and road transport, communication technologies and energy. Of course, there is still a long way to go to bring Ghana to where it is now, 64 years after the start of the post-colonial era.
