As The Gambia launches national coronavirus vaccinations, President Adama Barrow has taken the lead by being the first to receive his vaccine.
The Gambia, which has a population of 2.1 million, has received 36,000 doses of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine as part of the Covax program.
Other people vaccinated on Thursday included The Gambia’s vice president, Imam Banjul, his bishop and Gambia’s representative to the World Health Organization.
