Langdon is officially in the works, so who’s in the main cast and what’s the premise? Based on the character of Dan Brown’s popular novel Robert Langdon, the upcoming TV show follows a Harvard-trained symbologist who tries to solve global mysteries. The Langdon Pilot was originally produced for network television, but will now debut on the Peacock streaming service instead.

Robert Langdon first appeared in the 2000 novel Angels, in which he investigates the Illuminati. Then in the very successful follow-up of 2003 The “Da Vinci Code, the character immerses himself in a conspiracy involving the Holy Grail and Mary Magdalene. Since then, Langdon has been the subject of three other books: The lost symbol (2009), Hell (2013), and Origin (2017).

Langdon was officially ordered by peacock on March 9, 2021. The series was originally developed for NBC, but will now be part of NBCUniversal’s new streaming service. Dan Dworkin and Jay Beattie co-wrote Langdon, which follows the main character’s early years as he attempts to save his mentor while examining a global conspiracy.

Langdon is based on Brown’s 2009 novel The lost symbol, the third franchise installment. Tom Hanks was originally supposed to reprise his role in a big screen adaptation written by Steven Knight, however, Sony Pictures ultimately canceled the film and opted for it instead. Hell. NBC has lit a TV version of The lost symbol in June 2019.

Ashley Zukerman in Manhattan

Ashley Zukerman stars as a younger version of Robert Langdon on the Peacock show. He is best known for playing Charlie Isaacs in Manhattan, Peter MacLeish in Designated survivor, and Nate Sofrelli in Succession. Zukerman most recently appeared as Matt Mitchell on the Hulu show A teacher. The Langdon the supporting cast would include Valorie Curry (Blair Witch, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2), Eddie Izzard (Ocean’s Thirteen, Hannibal), Sumalee Montano (10 Cloverfield Lane, It’s us), Rick Gonzalez (Old school, Arrow) and Beau Knapp (Seven seconds, death wish). At the moment, it is not clear whether any characters from The “Da Vinci Code the film series will reprise their roles in the prequel show.
