The Executive Secretary of the Chamber of Petroleum Consumers, COPEC, Duncan Amoah, said the government should have looked for innovative ways to widen the tax net to make more money rather than using the lazy approach to introduce new ones.

Reacting to the increase in road tolls and charges in the energy sector, Duncan said the hapless government was not concerned about the difficulties Ghanaians face in the transport sector.

He said he would be disappointed if Parliament approves the new levies in the 2021 budget.
