Commercial transport users have been asked to ignore the threat of increased transport tariffs allegedly coming from some commercial drivers.
Road transport operators made the call in a statement jointly signed by Godfred Abulbire, Secretary General of the Ghana Private Road Transport Union; And Emmanuel Ohene Yeboah, Secretary General, Ghana Road Transport Coordinating Council.
In the statement, the road hauliers observed that it had come to their attention that certain groups of commercial drivers had decided to arbitrarily increase their fares in violation of the administrative instrument on the determination of transport fares in Ghana.
“The actions of these groups of drivers are groundless and should not be encouraged,” the statement read.
