London, March 20 (IANS): Former “Coronation Street” star Charlie Lawson believes the new generation of soap opera stars are more interested in fame than working on their acting skills.
“If you want to be an actor, stop being obsessed with fame. Most of the young actors I meet are more interested in being famous than in practicing their craft. Get rid of all that bad attitude and go for it. drama school. It wasn’t supposed to be. easy, “Lawson told the Daily Star newspaper.
The 61-year-old actor has also complained about the poor acting skills of several successful actors these days.
“I watch actors today in very popular and famous, familiar shows and some of them are just awful. Get into a job and learn your art,” he said.
The veteran actor played the character of Jim McDonald on “Coronation Street”, on and off from 1989 to 2018.
