The administration’s poll plans to ask users if executives need restrictions, just like citizens, for posting comments on Twitter. Twitter’s administration expects executives to take on social responsibility while posting or sharing their thoughts on their platform, given the reach and influence they wield is enormous.
Twitter’s double standards
Jack Dorsey in his recent blog post, who is the founder of Twitter, which is engaged in a legal battle with the Turkish government over a controversial internet law # 5651 which they say limits users’ freedom, said:
“Twitter was founded on freedom of expression and we respect the universal right of people to express their opinions online. We have a dedicated human rights feature on Twitter and we hold our processes, products and policies accountable – we have, and always will, apply our rules impartially and judiciously. “
Twitter plans new time-limited ‘Cancel Tweet’ feature
Twitter recently announced a “ cancel tweet ” feature for paid users in the form of a progress bar showing how much time they have before they can cancel the tweet. Amid continued user demand to provide an option to edit tweets, the social networking site is working on the “cancel tweet” feature, which will also include some paid subscription services.
