Coverage of the Vitality Netball Superleague continues Sunday with the eighth inning and four consecutive games broadcast live on Sky Sports’ YouTube channel starting at noon.

We take a look back at some of the key moments and performances from the seventh round of the Vitality Netball Superleague.

From Manchester Thunder returning to victory on Sunday noon, to Leeds Rhinos Netball and Severn Stars dueling on Monday night, it was another thrilling weekend of netball.

If you missed some of the action, you can watch each game in full on the Sky Sports YouTube channel. The competition returns Sunday with the eighth round and four successive streaming matches.

Round match

Well it must be Sirens of Strathclyde‘contest with Netball wasps, is not it? When a match goes down at the last second and leaves you on the edge of your seat, then there is no other choice!

For Strathclyde Sirens, the full-time whistle created a sense of frustration as they lost a game they thought they should have won, while Wasps Netball knew they were lucky they had taken a point far from the competition.

When you look back at the game take a look at Sirens’ defensive prowess, it’s fair to say that few teams are able to disrupt the Wasps attack like they did on Sunday.

While Manchester Thunder and Team Bath Netball have both scored an impressive number of goals on the table in their games against Celtic Dragons and Surrey Storm, we come back here. Sirens of Strathclyde for the performance (s) of the round.

The Scottish franchise set the tone with their duel against the Wasps and then continued to show their strength against a powerful Bath outfit on Monday.

With every game and every positive performance that passes, the belief grows in their ranks and it’s great to see.

What’s exciting for Sirens is that they know they have more to give and only small adjustments, such as getting higher shot percentages and having fewer digits. business against them, will take them to even higher heights.

Player of the turn

This week’s Player of the Round is one of England’s most recognized and beloved netball players – Serena Guthrie.

Monday night’s Bath contest with Sirens brought out the best in Vitality Rose. From midair passes and exceptional feeding accuracy to vital turnovers and constant turmoil, Guthrie has shown why she is considered one of the best midfielders in the world, not just in the Superleague.

The view on social media

England head coach Vitality Roses was back in Wakefield for the seventh round and ahead of the games she took to social media to share her excitement.

For Jess Thirlby, being able to watch every Vitality Netball Superleague game in person is a real luxury and something she takes maximum advantage of.

For obvious reasons, there was a lot of love for mermaids on Sunday night …

On Monday night, Guthrie’s work caught Vernon Kay’s attention and he let his one million subscribers know all about netball on Sky Sports. Then our reporter Hannah Wilkes saw a window for a new feature and wondered if Guthrie might consider adding to his sports repertoire ?!

In Manchester Thunder’s game against the Celtic Dragons on Sunday, Alicia scholes arrived on court for the start of the second quarter and played a big part in their 69-33 victory.

Overall, Karen Greig was pleased with Manchester Thunder’s victory and the performance of her young players, including Alicia Scholes.

In a commentary, Sara Bayman pointed out the type of WA Scholes is and some of the unique features it offers for Thunder. Karen Greig, the head coach of the 2019 Champions, also highlighted Scholes’ work during his post-match interview.

“Alicia brings something different to the end of the Thunder attack,” Bayman said. “She likes to give and go, she likes to chase the ball and push it back from players.

“She’s that kind of short, zippy WA that other teams have but we haven’t really seen from Thunder. It’s a good change for them in their offense.”
