A young man named Ben Kirby rose to popularity after creating an Instagram account specifically dedicated to the often lavish and luxurious lifestyles of church leaders called @PreacherzNSneakers.
It all started when he was streaming gospel music online and spotted one of the musicians wearing Kanye West’s expensive Yeezy Boost sneakers, which cost roughly the amount of a month’s rent.
Seeing this sparked his interest in church leaders who dress expensive and live lavishly. After receiving encouragement from a friend, the now very popular Instagram page was born and has 237,000 followers.

Washington post reports that Kirby quickly began to seriously question the various church leaders who have become wealthy by their profession – he also asked the question, how far is he too far when it comes to accepting the money of the faithful who, more often than not, are not rich?
According to IOL, Kirby would like there to be more transparency and accountability in churches so that the faithful can see exactly where every penny is spent. He also wants church leaders to go back to basics and remember why they are in the church to begin with.
