How did we not understand this after 20 seasons of Keep pace the kardashians (20!). On Monday, host, producer and writer Andy Cohen appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon to set the record straight on how you pronounce Khloé Kardashian.
“It’s Klo-ay. Khloé is the name, ”he told Jimmy Fallon. “There is a little emphasis on the name. And so, I went to interview the Kardashians at Khloé’s. I walked in, I said, “Khloé? and the other women say, “Excuse me?” And Kris [Jenner] said, ‘Yeah, that’s really how it sounds.’ “
Consider our minds blown.
Cohen was invited to interview the famous family ahead of the final season of KUWTK. As expected, the producer had to take a COVID-19 test before going to the Kardashians’ home, but it was all done through a door system.
“You’ve gone through all these doors. I had to take a COVID test before I got there. And I said, ‘Oh, do you want to give me the COVID test results? They say, “Go to Khloé’s and if the second door opens, you’re negative. And the door opened and I was like, ‘Okay, I don’t have COVID. I’m fine.'”
Of course, this isn’t the first time the whole world has mispronounced a name. In 2018, Little woman actor Timothée Chalamet revealed in an interview with VMan that his name (with the same accent above the “e”) is actually pronounced as “Timo-tay”, not “Timo-thy”.
“The real pronunciation is Timo-tay. But I can’t ask people to call me that; it sounds really pretentious.
“My father is from France, so it’s a French spelling, but it seems too obligatory to ask people to call me that,” Chalamet continued.
And as you continue to expand your vocabulary, could we suggest GRAZIA’s bible for how to pronounce each fashion brand.
