Bernard Allotey Jacobs has said many more people will drop out of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the coming days because the party is a “den of the devil”.
“If you are in this party, you are in the den of the devil,” the former central regional president of the NDC said in an interview on Starr FM and watched by YEN.com.gh.
On March 23, the NDC announced in a statement that it had kicked Allotey Jacobs from its fold for “misconduct and anti-party behavior”.
The announcement comes weeks after Allotey Jacobs announced he was no longer a member of the party.
NDC supporters demonstrate against Mahama; say he’s destroying the party
The NDC in May 2020 suspended him for “persistent anti-party behavior” under Articles 46 (1), 46 (6) and 46 (8) of the party constitution.
Allotey Jacobs described his expulsion from the party as “unnecessary” because he previously told Accra-based Peace FM’s Kookrokoo program on Wednesday March 10, and monitored by YEN.com.gh, that he had paid his dues to umbrella brotherhood and it’s time for him to move on.
The former central regional president of the NDC said he now supports President Nana Akufo-Addo and Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
According to him, the policies deployed by the Akufo-Addo administration made it easy for him to declare his support for the president and his vice.
“I don’t know if they’re brainless or what?” How can you tell you kicked me out when two weeks ago I kicked myself out of the party? ” he stated.

In other NDC news on YEN.com.gh, a group of party supporters protested against former President John Mahama. They were seen carrying signs with inscriptions such as “Mahama destroys the NDC”.
It is not currently known what prompted the group to take this action against Mahama. From the news circulating in the media, however, it appears that the NDC has been facing problems since the 2020 election and its consequences have not been in the party’s favor.
