It will soon cost you an extra $ 1 per month to watch your favorite Marvel, Pixar and “Star Wars” content.
Disney + is increasing its monthly price from $ 6.99 per month to $ 7.99 per month in the United States starting Friday, March 26. The price of the annual subscription will also increase from $ 69.99 per year to $ 79.99 per year. The same will be true for the Disney three-way Disney +, Hulu, and ESPN + package, which will increase from $ 1 to $ 13.99 per month.
But budget-conscious subscribers looking for a deal will still be able to lock in an annual subscription at the current price – a savings of $ 10 – if they sign up before Friday.

This is the first price increase since Walt Disney Co.’s DIS,
launched its streaming service in fall 2019. The increases were first announced in December.
Disney is betting the increase won’t be enough to keep viewers away. The fast-growing service surpassed 100 million subscribers in March, Disney said, thanks to successful series like the “Star Wars” spin-off “The Mandalorian” and the Marvel spin-offs “WandaVision” and “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier”.
Although its library is much smaller, at $ 7.99 per month, Disney + is significantly cheaper than rival Netflix Inc. NFLX,
who recently upgraded their most popular subscription plan to $ 13.99 per month, and AT&T’s T,
HBO Max, at $ 14.99 per month.
Disney revamped its upcoming movie release schedule on Tuesday, announcing Scarlett Johansson’s “Avengers” spinoff movie “Black Widow” and Emma Stone’s live-action “Cruella” will air for an additional $ 30 for subscribers. Disney + the same day it hits theaters this summer, and the Pixar animated film “Luca” will air on Disney + at no additional cost starting June 18.
