The seat of government, Jubilee House, hosted former British Prime Minister Tony Blair.

He was hired by Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia on Wednesday, who spoke with him.

In a tweet on his social media platforms, Vice President Bawumia said discussions focused on high-profile public policy issues, including digital technology, accessibility of the COVID-19 vaccine, telemedicine and greenhouse technology.

“Ghana has been on a path of significant digitalization in recent years and we are preparing to use this to drive innovation and transformation,” said Dr Bawumia.

During the first term of the government led by Akufo-Addo, Vice President Bawumia led the government’s digitization program and launched numerous digital programs to boost revenue mobilization and improve public service delivery.

Some of these initiatives included; the National Digital Addressing and Property System, the Mobile Money Interoperability and Payment System, the Universal QR Code System, the digitization of land registers and the Ghana Digital Portal (Ghana.gov).
