Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe has revealed he was criticized early in his career for being a show-off and not scoring enough goals.
Mbappe spent nine years at the home side of AS Bondy and impressed in four years at Monaco before becoming the second most expensive player of all time when he joined the French giants in 2017.
He scored 26 goals in his decisive season for Monaco and scored 120 goals in 150 games for PSG, including 30 goals in all competitions so far this season.

But Mbappe, who is currently Ligue 1’s top scorer by a distance and a joint-second in the Champions League table, admitted he was not always so prolific.
He told UEFA: “ For a long time in youth teams people said that I hadn’t scored enough and that I was showing myself too much. In football these days, you have to score. And in order to score you have to practice doing it. You have to work on it during training.
“When you’re having trouble, no one else can come and get you. You have to be mentally strong and do everything to understand that you can move mountains. When I go out on the pitch, I tell myself that I will give everything to be the best I can be.
Mbappe is currently PSG’s third-highest scorer of all time, behind Edinson Cavani and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and scored a hat-trick against Barcelona at Camp Nou in February in a 4-1 Champions League loss.

PSG are set to offer the 40-cap international a gargantuan contract of £ 25million a year to persuade him to stay in the French capital amid interest from Real Madrid and Barcelona.
