A 47-year-old man, in Adenta in Accra, was stabbed to death on Friday March 27, 2021 by a friend on a cigarette stick.

Kwabena Amponsah, received multiple stab wounds to her head, ribs and hands by a suspect, Isaac Brown, who is currently at large.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Effia Tenge, head of the public affairs unit of the Accra Regional Police Command, told the Ghanaian news agency.

She said on March 27, 2021, at around 10 a.m., the mother of the deceased made a formal complaint to the Adenta police station that on the same day, at around 9:30 a.m., her son, Amponsah, was stabbed to death. with a knife by someone.

“Police attended the scene of Adena Sakora No.5 and found the body of a man, around 47, wearing black denim pants with a red and black ‘T’, lying on your stomach, dead, ”she said. .

DSP Tenge said that “the body was carefully inspected and found with multiple fresh knife wounds on the head, left ribs and both hands.

Preliminary inquiries have revealed that the deceased and the suspect, Isaac Brown, at large, was drinking in a place to have a drink in the area when someone bought a stick of cigarettes for the suspect ”.

“That the deceased would have taken the suspect’s cigarette, triggering verbal exchanges between them which degenerated into beating.”

Ms Tenge said they were separated and the deceased left the scene to return home, adding that minutes later the suspect followed the deceased and inflicted multiple stab wounds on him.

“Brown after committing the heinous act locked himself on an unidentified motorcycle,” she said.

Ms Tenge said photographs of the scene and the body were taken afterwards and then the body was transported and dropped off at the police hospital morgue for an autopsy.

The head of the public affairs unit stressed that efforts were underway to gather useful information that would lead to the suspect’s arrest to face all the rigors of the law.
