Christians have been urged to use Palm Sunday and the Easter season in general to take full advantage of the benefits of godliness in order to save their souls and have eternal life.

The call was made in Koforidua, the eastern regional capital by Mr. Stephen Gakpetor, a presbyter of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Ghana, Congregation Amenuveve.

Preaching on the theme: “Hosanna, Lord save us now,” he reiterated the need for Christians to see Palm Sunday as an integral part of the process that led Jesus Christ to offer his life to redeem the soul. of humanity from sin.

“As Christians we have limited strength and power, therefore, it is essential as believers to call on God to always save us in times of distress and need, for God’s plan is that l ‘humanity be redeemed,’ he said.

The Gakpetor Presbytery called on Christians to critically examine themselves whether their souls would have eternal life after the end of their journey on earth.

He told the congregation that his soul could only be saved if that person believed in Jesus Christ, confessed his sins, accepted Jesus Christ, and was born again.

Palm Sunday commemorates Christ’s entry into Jerusalem according to the Gospel, when the people paid homage to him by placing cloths and palm branches on the ground for him to walk, before his arrest on Maundy Thursday and his crucifixion on Good Friday.

It thus marks the beginning of Holy Week, the last week of Lent.
