Nigerian police said they had arrested 16 suspects for committing violent attacks on security agents and facilities in some states, particularly in the southeastern part of di kontri.

Police say the arrest is the result of hard work by police officers working with the military and air force to eliminate those responsible for the new trend of attacks on security personnel.

“No murderer will go unpunished … we are not watching them closely,” said Inspector General of Police Mohammed Adamu Tok.

Police say they will indict all suspects in court as soon as they complete the investigation.

Police arrest suspects for different parts of di kontri and recover nine AK47 rifles, five ODA sophisticated firearms, seventeen AK47 magazines, 549 AK47 live ammunition, 10 improvised explosive devices (IEDs), camouflage bulletproof vests , walkie-talkies and suspect odas.

They add that the investigations link the suspects to the various attacks and killings of security personnel, as well as theft, illegal possession of firearms, arson and damage to property of security personnel.
