There was a massive demonstration by Nigerians at Abuja House in London on Frida, calling for the dismissal of President Muhammadu Buhari to Nigeria.
Reno Omokri, a former aide to former President Goodluck Jonathan, previously shared a video on Twitter showing protesters gathered to chase the president from his home.
Omokri, who is the organizer of the “Harass Buhari Out of London” rally, described it as a resounding success.
The former presidential aide said police could not stop the protest as it was conducted in strict compliance with COVID19 protocols, with protesters massing in groups of six.
In a statement to DAILY POST on Friday, Omokri said the London Metropolitan Police were called by the Nigerian High Commission but were unable to stop the process.
After questioning Omokri and observing that the event was orderly, peaceful and did not violate COVID19 protocols, police allowed the protest to continue, the statement said.
Speaking at the event, Omokri said: “General Buhari is the most irresponsible. He left his country the day the medical residents started a strike and came to the UK to take care of his health.
“He has been in operation for 5 years and has yet to launch, start up or complete even a hospital. Will Boris Johnson fail to build hospitals for the British, then travel to Nigeria for treatment? “
“Buhari has budgeted over $ 10 billion for the Aso Rock State House Clinic over his five years in office. Isn’t that enough money to build a hospital and train doctors who can treat him and other Nigerians? Still, his own wife said the clinic couldn’t even provide regular paracetamol. Search it on Google “.
Omokri added, “When Buhari’s son Yusuf was injured in an accident, we prayed for his recovery. I prayed for him.
“How did this man reward us? He sent soldiers to Lekki to kill peaceful and unarmed #EndSARS protesters. These are the children of the men and women who prayed for his son.
“General Muhammadu Buhari does not run a government. He runs a criminal enterprise. He’s killed peaceful and unarmed #EndSARS protesters demanding good governance, and now he’s in London to secure his life and reap the benefits of good UK governance? Send the coward home to fix the mess he created.
Omokri said: “Only 5% of Nigerians are covered by a doctor. This man won in Nigeria. He promised he would do better, but he made Nigeria the world seat of extreme poverty.
“He left us with the highest unemployment rate in the world at 33%. We have the highest number of out-of-school children with 13.5 million. And after destroying our economy, he traveled to a London shut down by COVID-19 to restore his health.
During the protest, Nigerians chanted “Go home, Buhari”. Many carried various placards asking General Buhari to return to Nigeria.
The British press was also on hand to cover the protest, which was still ongoing at the time of this report’s filing.
