One thing to note is that for years, networks have committed – and continue to do – to signing a pilot for a series before deciding whether or not to give a series the go-ahead for a project. Netflix does things differently. The subscription streamer typically logs in for an entire first season rather than pouring money into pilots who might never make it to the series. This means fans will still have a full season of a show before it’s finally canceled, but on the negative side, it means we’ll likely see a lot more shows being canceled after a season. Prepare for more bandages to be ripped off.
