Ghanaian social media users have expressed opposing views on the Reggae / Dancehall artist, Shatta Wale’s description of #FixTheCountry activists as “educated fools and disappointed graduates”.
According to born artist Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr., young people campaigning for a fixed country should instead mend themselves. He then described them as “cheap thinkers”.
He added that shouting “fix the country” on social media as Ghanaians are being killed on the streets will not produce any desired change.
You are there watching bullets going into people’s children and you are still screaming to mend the country.
Let’s stop this it won’t end well ..
I DON’T WANT WAR !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! #AYOO

But these comments from the president of the Shatta Movement (SM) were not greeted lightly by dozens on social media. Those who disagree with the comment argue that the artist has no basis for criticizing the medium used by Ghanaians to demand accountability.
No matter what happens, there are people who will not stand aside and watch what is happening in this country without taking to the streets and holding our leaders to account, these people are the real heroes, not shatta wale ni criss waddle scared to die and leave

I noticed that shatta Wale has been confused and inconsistent since 2016. But I’m glad people are seeing it now https://t.co/QXpCzPAgBu

Bro Shatta Wale made no point but insulting people who are not the problem, even those he insulted may be stronger than him. He didn’t look like an educated person with that tweet

I just hope when they hit the streets Shatta Wale is on the front lines?

I was getting angry reading what Shatta Wale posted, but then remembered who we were dealing with.
I just have to direct my energy somewhere….

Now that we have all established how stupid Shatta Wale is, can we go ahead and fight for the country to be mended?#outside#FixTheCountryNow

Stupidly, some celebrities cheat on behalf of the celebrity. Shatta Wale is one of them. Stupidly, they talk as if the grass is controlling them. Kwasiasem kwa. Don’t you know that a functioning system will automatically fix the minds and attitudes of people.

However, others believe Shatta Wale is correct in suggesting a different approach for young Ghanaians to stand up and fight for their rights.
Sad truth 😥😔
Shatta Wale speaks meaning here.
We applaud for him#FixTheCountry pic.twitter.com/NtNiysy9ON– Anonu Horgah Edem (@iamahedem) June 30, 2021
Nigerians made the same protest and it caused an innocent soul, the question here is whether their problems are resolved. Is Nigeria a better country now. Let’s hear what Shatta Wale says #GhettoYouthWiseUp @malikofori @shattabaconfirmer @jayden_wap @kaygeeofficial @JIGGGA_MAN pic.twitter.com/svLDGcVCoX

Now the focus is on Shatta Wale. They turned away from mainstream topics and went after celebrities. Even their own friends attack them. Very useless and inept youth.

In recent months, Ghanaian youth have taken to social media to demand accountability, good governance and better living conditions from the government.
#FixTheCountry has garnered huge support since activists, mostly young people, highlighted some of the country’s shortcomings.
However, a certain Ibrahim Mohammed, a social activist was assaulted on Saturday in Ejura by two unknown assailants in front of his residence. Known to many as Kaaka, the social activist died at Komfo Anokye University Hospital (KATH) on Monday.
Two men suspected of being bodyguards for MCE d’Ejura were arrested by police to help with ongoing investigations.
Kaaka’s death led young Ejura to take to the streets to seek justice, but the protest unfortunately left two dead and four injured after clashes between protesters and the military.
So far, the Ashanti Regional Police Command has said it has opened investigations into the circumstances that led to the deaths of two Ejura residents.
