Dilip Kumar will be transferred from the intensive care unit (ICU) on Monday, as confirmed by his doctor Nitin Gokhale.

A report in India time said the legendary actor was recovering well, after his wife said he was “stable”.

Addressing the publication, Gokhale said: “Tomorrow we will take him out of the ICU.”

Kumar was hospitalized for the second time in June after complaining of shortness of breath.

The 98-year-old actor was rushed to hospital on June 6 when he was diagnosed with bilateral pleural effusion, for which he successfully underwent an aspiration procedure in which 350 ml of fluid were removed from his left lung.

He was subsequently released on June 11.
