Beck invited fans to celebrate her birthday (July 8) with a misty late night ride in the form of the official video for “Chemical (Chloe Caillet Remix)”. Directed by Mikai Karl and starring Stella Maxwell, the clip’s nocturnal palette is the perfect visual interpretation of the re-imagining of a GRAMMY-winner Beck’s highlight. Hyperspace album.
Recently, Beck came up with a version of “Find My Way” which was included on III Imagined by Paul McCartney. He also recently released his remix of “Sauce” by Rémi Wolf.
Beck delivered an extremely funky electro-pop interpretation of the aforementioned McCartney’s “Find My Way”. The single was featured on McCartney III imagined, alongside artists including St. Vincent, Josh Male, and Phoebe Bridgers, who each offered their own take on new material from the legendary artist.
While the original recording of McCartney’s “Find My Way” was certainly upbeat, Beck completely transforms the song – swapping guitars for synth-based melodies and dropping infectious beats.
“I remember hanging out with Paul and his wife Nancy several years ago, and Nancy mentioned that she wanted to go out dancing before calling it a night,” Beck recalled in a statement. “We ended up at a club in West Hollywood and I remember noticing Paul and Nancy tearing each other apart – really having more fun than anyone on the dance floor. Last year when he asked me to remix this track I remembered that night and wanted to try to recapture that amazing spirit that I felt watching him on the dance floor … A kind of little homage to Paul “in his groove”.
He continued, “When I next heard the falsetto voice in Paul’s original track, I wanted to lean more into something really loose and funky. I took out my Hofner (because, of course) and put on some basslines… and it all came to life from there. The best part of the whole experience, however, came a week after I returned the remix when Paul called me to tell me he had been dancing in his kitchen to the track all week.
