BTS lit up Seoul’s night sky with their never-before-seen new performance of “Butter” on Tonight’s Show with Jimmy Fallon Wednesday, July 14 as part of their two-night takeover.
Dressed in black and white button-down shirts, the group of boys showed their moves across the brightly lit but unopened World Cup Bridge in the Mapo district of their hometown. The bridge was originally scheduled to reopen in August 2015, but experienced delays; it should finally be unveiled next month.
Also on Wednesday night’s episode of Fallon, BTS presented their first performance of their new single “Permission to Dance”.
The two-night takeover marked their third appearance on Tonight’s show. BTS has already rocked the show for an entire week from September 28 to October 2, 2020, performing hits like “Dynamite” and “Black Swan.” In February of the same year, they performed “On” at New York’s Grand Central Terminal. Their very first appearance on the show was in September 2018, where the group performed “Idol” and took on the Fortnite dance challenge with Fallon.
While BTS topped the charts with their hot summer single “Butter,” Alan Bjerga, the head of communications for the American Butter Institute, even enthusiastically praised the song.
“My main reaction was, ‘Great!’ It obviously doesn’t hurt to pair your product with the song from the best band of the summer, ”said Bjerga recently. Billboard. “As BTS says,” It’s fluid … “The future of butter sales in the United States lies in exports, and having arguably the biggest band in the world hailing the song can’t be that good. “
“Beurre” was currently number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart for the past seven weeks and continues to count.
