Labor and Employment Minister Chris Ngige has called on the Outlawed Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) to desist from linking it to the new arrest of its leader, Nnamdi Kanu.

Ngige, in a statement from his media office on Saturday, insisted he did not have time to get involved in security and diplomatic matters.

The minister also described IPOB spokesperson Emma Powerful’s attempt to link him to Kanu’s re-arrest as deceptive, mischievous, malicious and mean.

“Ngige is busy, involved and engrossed in his duties as Minister of Labor and Employment, a member of the Federal Cabinet Committee for Economic Recovery and a member of the Economic Sustainability Committee formed by President Muhammadu Buhari, which is chaired by the Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, with the mandate to address the challenges and fallout of COVID-19 and the post-COVID-19 era.

“It is therefore unthinkable that a person with gray matter in the brain, unless he hallucinates like the spokesperson for IPOB, could accuse a very busy minister like Senator Ngige of being part of a ‘ plot ‘for the arrest of Nnamdi Kanu,’ part of the statement read.

Powerful, in his statement, listed those who would be forced to pay for their “satanic role” in Kanu’s re-arrest.

Besides Ngige, he appointed Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike, Anambra State Governor Willie Obiano and Igbo businessman Emeka Offor.
