The Damsel Foundation is calling on President Akufo-Addo to fire a presidential staff member, Mr. Nana Hesse Ogyiri, for what is described as sexually abusive comments about Farida Mahama.
Farida Mahama, daughter of President John Dramani Mahama, celebrated her birthday on Friday July 17, 2021.
Using photos posted by the ex-president to wish his daughter a happy birthday, Mr Nana Hesse Ogyiri in a Facebook post yesterday captioned it in the strangest way that shocked his followers.
The text accompanying the photo of Farida Mahama read: “Farida, the daughter of President John Mahama. It is fully developed and well endowed. Very handy. What do you think ?”
In a Damsel Foundation press release after quoting the post from the presidential staff member, it is said that the statement amounts to child abuse in flagrant violation of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child and Ghana’s Children’s Act 1998 (ACT 560), which directs governments and all persons not to subject a child to any mental abuse.
“Unfortunately, Mr. Nana Hesse Ogyiri not only made these sexually abusive and inappropriate comments about the minor, but also invited the public to share similar opinions about the minor while posting his photo in said Facebook post,” in as part of a foundation release bed.
He adds: “As a foundation committed to the empowerment of young girls in the country, we are appalled and disgusted by this disgraceful conduct of Mr. Ogyiri who is unworthy of a presidential staff member and unequivocally condemns him.
In notifying its intention to file a formal complaint about this with the chief of staff who is responsible for monitoring Ogyiri, the Damsel Foundation called on President Akufo-Addo to take action against the presidential staff member.
“We would like to call on the President of the Republic of Ghana to sanction Mr. Ogyiri by dismissing him from office with immediate effect, as a sign of his government’s commitment to protect every child from all forms of abuse, regardless of their condition. origin, ”he added.
