KANYE West’s new album tribute to his mother debuted at an event Thursday night at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta as he rapped about “losing his family” ahead of his divorce from Kim Kardashian.
In moving verses from his song “Love Unconditionally”, artist Yeezus repeated, “I’m losing my family / I’m losing my family / I’m losing my family.”
Kanye reportedly spoke to Kim about the personal nature of the song before his performance so as not to “blind” the TV star.
An insider tells E! News: “Kanye wrote a song about Kim and their marriage and Kim gave her opinion on it.
“Kanye respects Kim a lot and wants to keep the family together. Now that they’ve had the space, Kim feels relieved that they can be cordial and spend time together for the sake of the children.”
Her album is named after her late mother, Donda West, who died at the age of 58.
Kanye had originally planned to release his album Donda, named after his late mother, last July, but it was never released. However, he confirmed that the album will now be released on July 24.
