Tema Metropolitan General Manager Mr. Felix Mensah Nii Anang-La commissioned a newly constructed transport terminal near the Accra-Tema highway interchange in the central district of Tema, a sub-metro under Tema Metropolitan Assembly (TMA).
The new terminal, Anang-La told the Ghanaian news agency in Tema, would make travel user-friendly and safer for the public in the metropolis.
He said: “This will give us an option, now people living in central Tema can board a car from the freeway interchange instead of going to the Community One terminal to do so.”
According to MCE, TMA had three more terminals to build and expected to build more in Tema, including the construction of a truck terminal for truck drivers.
“We are also considering another parking lot in front of Elpaso and a truck station for the Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU) at Tema Newtown.
He commended the Urban Roads Department and the Transport Union for their expertise, experience and great effort in setting up terminals such as the TMA facade terminal, Community One’s main transport terminal and helping to make possible event.
