Lil Nas X recently announced their upcoming album, Montero. Now fans get a preview of the first project with a new single, “INDUSTRY BABY” starring Jack Harlow.

The rapper posted a teaser for the clip for the single that shows X in court, with a lawyer and judge played by him as well, before moving on to the song’s start.

To poke fun at his recent legal woes, the video follows Lil Nas’ track record in shedding light on the difficult situations he finds himself in.

Over the past two weeks, Lil Nas X has claimed on TikTok on Twitter that he could go to jail over a lawsuit against Nike in response to X’s controversial launch of his “Satan Shoes” in March. The red and black sneakers, which featured a bronze pentagram and contained a drop of real human blood in the sole, looked almost exactly like Nike’s popular Air Max 97 shoe, triggering the suit.

The rapper’s social media claims caused a stir among his fans, launching hashtags like #FREELILNASX and #NIKEvsLILNASX.

Only, Lil Nas X was not the real defendant in the case; MSCHF, the New York-based art collective that partnered with the rapper to produce the shoes, was. And Nike and MSCHF sorted out the suit months ago.

However, Lil Nas X, real name Montero Lamar Hill, was praised for using social media to promote himself, and turned the situation into a brilliant publicity strategy for “INDUSTRY BABY”, his new single with Jack Harlow, regaining her power once again after facing backlash and death threats for her single “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)”, and the accompanying shoe drop.

“Do you have any soldiers, tell them I’m not keeping a low profile / You were never really rooted for me anyway / When I get back to the top I want to hear you say / ‘He ain’t running away step up, dog “X raps to a beat co-produced by Take a Daytrip and Kanye West, an apparent response to those who have judged the rapper since his release in 2019.

The video is currently ranked # 1 for music on YouTube and is streaming across all platforms.
