The deportation of Anyidoho undemocratic and unjust – political scientist

A political scientist from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Abass Mohammed, called the measures taken by the NDC opposition to expel its former deputy general secretary Koku Anyidoho immature.

It comes after Koku Anyidoho wrote to party secretary general Asiedu Nketia to give him a copy of his deportation letter.

Speaking to Starr News, Abass Mohammed said the decision to expel Koku Anyidoho was undemocratic.

“The party must in fact show maturity. He must show a great deal of rationality and seriousness in the way he deals with questions of this nature. Yes, it is true that the party will want to ensure some discipline in the way they do their things, in the way the members behave, but this attempt to ensure discipline should not be misinterpreted or seen as anti -critical and beyond all criticism.

“Because that’s democracy. Democracy encourages criticism, democracy encourages alternative views, no matter how radical or different those views are. “

Abass Mohammed also added that the NDC had not been fair to its former deputy secretary general.

He noted that “people who perceive the NDC to be unfair to it, to a large extent, I think they will be right and will have followers as well and will have a strong case as well.”

“So, yes, people can clearly state that he was treated unfairly because the onus is on the party to make it clear that what she did to him was fair and just, she was not able to to demonstrate it clearly. “

He added “he’s surrounded by a lot of confusion and misunderstanding here and there. So yes if people claim he was treated unfairly I think they have a strong point and they have a strong point.
