National Democratic Congress (NDC) national organizer Joshua Akamba said Assin North MP Joe Gyaakye Quayson was not invited by the Police Department of Criminal Investigations (CID).
Joshua Akamba says he asked Joe Gyaakye Quayson if there was a development like this, but Mr Quayson says there is no such thing.
The national NDC organizer says he has been traveling with Joe Quayson to the central region for some time, but they have yet to see or hear an invitation from the police.
He believes it is a propaganda trick introduced by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to excite its supporters to the idea that something is brewing.
“I doubt there is a case like this. He doesn’t know that someone invited him. I asked him, and I asked the police if there was such a problem, and they said no.
He adds, “I’m sure this is part of the propaganda aimed at making people happier. So, this is part of the propaganda game that the nuclear power plant is playing. “
Mr Akamba said after the court proceedings Joe Quayson did not go to the constituency. So, after filing the appeal proceedings in Cape Coast courts, they learned that voters wanted to see him.
Therefore, he argues, they went to Assin North riding at the invitation of voters.
“It’s not organized, but his people actually wanted to see him, so they pleaded for him to come and see him,” he said.
He said there were comments on social media that Joe Quayson had been arrested and reported that the police were looking for him so they accompanied him to tell his people that he is fine and that he is safe and that he would go through legal proceedings.
The NDC says they are sure that God will raise his hand and that justice will be served at the end of all the hubbub.
A Cape Coast High Court last week overturned parliamentary elections in the constituency because the MP was not qualified to run at the time because he had not completed the processes leading to the waiver of his Canadian citizenship.
