The Ghanaian National Council of Private Schools (GNACOPS) provides Internet connectivity with the highest speed to all member schools in the country, in order to boost education.
The project, which is an important impetus for GNACOPS, aims to improve the country’s education system. as part of the project, one million educational tablets will be installed in classrooms for the use of students in private schools.
It will also be connected to global educational platforms such as CISCO, Facebook and Google.
As part of a nationwide tour organized by the Council, the project dubbed “Digital Solutions for Education” was launched at the Janet Education Complex in Kumasi on Tuesday 3 August.
It is undertaken in partnership with Celltel Networks Limited. The Council will install one million educational tablets with connectivity to all private schools.
About 200,000 laptops with routers will be distributed to teachers and they will have to pay in 36 months.
The Janet Education Complex was the first to benefit from this. Two hundred tablets were installed with Internet connectivity in the school while 40 laptops were given to teachers.
GNACOPS Executive Director Enoch Kwasi Gyetuah said modern education requires using the global platform to help meet the standards set for it.
“Due to the high cost of these important tools, many people find it difficult to use them to their advantage, especially teachers and students. “
The owner of the Janet educational complex, Ms. Esther Quise-Wood, is optimistic that the project will change the lives of the students.
Celltel Networks Limited Executive Chairman Dr Prince Kofi Kludjeson highlighted the critical role that digitization will play in Ghana’s rapid socio-economic development.
