Apple’s TV + streaming service is doing very well Ted lasso, the comedy winning a large following and winning numerous awards and nominations. You can understand that the company is looking to stay in business with the show’s executive producer, Bill Lawrence. He is now producing a new drama called Bad monkey, which will star Vince Vaughn.
Lawrence, along with fellow executive producer Liza Katzer, adapts the 2013 novel by Carl Hiaasen. The story follows Andrew Yancy (Vaughn), a demoted former detective to restaurant inspector in South Florida. A severed arm found by a tourist fishing leads Yancy into the world of greed and corruption that decimates the land and environment in Florida and the Bahamas. And yes, there is a monkey.
The show landed a direct order for 10 serial episodes, so expect filming to begin this year.
