“Widespread attacks by armed robbers are now almost daily. Many lives are lost due to the activities of these criminals, ”he said.

He made that call when the president paid a working visit to the Pru West district as part of his two-day tour of the Bono East area.

He noted that “important lives that have been lost include Sheikh Ali Mohammed Meikano, brother of Khalifa, the chairman of the Tijjaniya Muslim Council of Ghana, a military officer, Sergeant Odei John, and just a few days ago , the chief linguist of Abease Traditional. Advice. This situation scares away investors who have an interest in doing business here ”.

Nana Kwadwo Nyarko III attributed insufficient police personnel and lack of logistics as the main factors contributing to the increase in theft cases recorded in the region.

“Our main challenge is the shortage of police personnel, the lack of vehicles and logistics. We would like to take this opportunity to call on you to intervene in order to save lives, ”he added.

The president, for his part, assured the traditional council of the government’s will to help improve the security situation in the area.

“What I have just heard about armed robbery here is shocking and I want to assure you that the government will work with the security agencies to curb this threat,” the president said.

He added that more police would be assigned to the area to help resolve the issue.
