Lady Gaga takes viewers behind the scenes of the filming of his surreal video for Chromatic song “911” in a new virtual reality experience via the CEEK VR app. The release coincides closely with the first anniversary of Chromatic, which arrived in May 2020.
The 360-degree CEEK VR experience was captured on set while filming the short film directed by Tarsem Singh. The cinematic visual finds the superstar rising in a desert and heading to an unspecified town where she stars in a series of vignettes featuring wacky characters.
Lady Gaga landed her sixth number one Billboard 200 hit when Chromatic debuted in 2020. The ensemble began with 274,000 equivalent album units earned in the United States in the week ending June 4, according to Nielsen Music / MRC Data – the most important week for an album by a female artist in 2020.
Chromatic was originally slated for an April 10 release, but was delayed due to COVID-19 concerns. Lady Gaga previously reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with the A star is born soundtrack (with Bradley Cooper, in 2018 and 2019), Jeanne (2016), Cheek to cheek (with Tony Bennett, 2014), Pop art (2013) and Born like this (2011).
While the album was a resounding success, Lady Gaga’s long-awaited Chromatica Ball tour has been reprogrammed once again. Ticket holders have been informed that the tour, originally scheduled for last July and postponed to start in July 2021, will now take place in the summer of 2022. Official dates have not yet been announced.
“While some parts of the world are opening up quickly, others are not yet ready,” Gaga said in a social media statement. “So until we can confirm all the world dates, we have to postpone the Chromatica Ball shows until the summer of 2022.”
Last year, the singer shared the news of the tour’s initial postponement, saying, “We’ve been working hard to find the safest and fastest way to bring this show to you, but most of all we want everyone be in good health and able to dance together at shows as we always have.
