EuroNanoForum is a biannual event organized under the Presidency of the European Union. EuroNanoForum 2011 will be the fifth event in this series and will take place under the Hungarian Presidency at the Congress and at the World Trade Center in Budapest from May 30 to June 1, 2011. EuroNanoForum 2011 has received funding from the Union’s Seventh Framework Program European Union (FP7 / 2007-2013) and the National Research and Technology Office in Hungary.
EuroNanoForum 2011 reveals how nanotechnology can help solve the great challenges of our time. The event covers research advances, industrial innovations and the societal impact of nanotechnologies.
For the first time, EuroNanoForum is joining forces with Nanotech Europe, a leading European nanotechnology event produced by Spinverse, to provide a unique meeting point for the entire nanotechnology community.
The three-day event features a full conference program, extensive exhibition and effective matchmaking, ensuring that attendees will be able to network with key industry, research and policy decision-makers.
Herbert von Bose, Director of the Industrial Technologies program at the European Commission, stresses that “Europe must harness the enormous potential of new nanotechnologies in order to ensure our competitiveness and continued growth. It is essential that the various players in nanotechnology, from scientists to consumers, actively collaborate and develop new processes and products in a responsible manner.
EuroNanoForum plays a major role in facilitating such collaboration. Europe not only needs excellent science, but must take full advantage of its results. ENF2011 is also very well placed to discuss the vision for the future, including the Innovation Union initiative. “
Dr István Vadász, Vice-President of the Hungarian National Office for Research and Technology (NKTH) says that “Hungary has a long tradition of scientific excellence. Our local nanotechnology SMEs are building international recognition in their areas of expertise, while our researchers are exploring other promising avenues. Bringing together key scientific and industrial players is more relevant than ever for Europe. EuroNanoForum 2011 aims to inspire collaborations to meet Europe’s major challenges and lead the era of nanotechnologies.
