The Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) has stated that this year’s edition of the popular annual street art festival dubbed “Chale Wote Festival” will be held virtually.

WADA said: “This has become necessary due to the upsurge in Covid-19 cases and in accordance with the President’s 26th update on the Covid-19 pandemic, which bans large gatherings to prevent the spread of the coronavirus “.

In a statement issued to Ghana’s news agency in Accra, he said that to this end, WADA management and festival organizers had agreed that all aligned programs would be broadcast on virtual platforms such as social media and other online channels. to allow all enthusiasts to follow the activities.

He said that unlike previous events and the associated large crowd, there will be no outdoor activities that will require in-person participation during this year’s festival scheduled for August 13-22, 2021.

“WADA would like to take this opportunity to rally citizens to express their interest in the event and support the various activities by participating through online platforms.

The Assembly also urges everyone to follow the information on social media and the event website for updates.

Chale Wote Street Art Festival is a platform of Ghanaian origin that brings together art, music, dance and performance in the streets.

This year’s edition of the festival marks the tenth year of its launch in 2011 to promote and appreciate various art forms in Ghana.
