An education think tank, African Education Watch, has asked the Ghana Higher Education Commission to investigate the incident of a priest kissing students at St Monica’s College of Education.
In an amateur video, the priest, Father Balthazar Obeng Larbi, is seen forcibly kissing three college students during a religious ritual to the applause of a congregation.

The third student who initially showed resistance finally gave in.
The priest’s conduct elicited a massive public reaction.
In a statement condemning the act, the African Education Watch called for sanctions against the priest because “the alleged act is a blatant disregard for the established protocols of Covid-19 which the perpetrator is responsible for instead ensuring the membership as a leader of the school.
“With this letter, we ask your office to conduct an external investigation into the conduct of Father Balthazar Obeng Larbi and to sanction appropriately while commenting on whether the practice of kissing students in public is a acceptable conduct in a higher education institution, ”the statement added. .
Meanwhile, the Anglican Church has already revealed that an investigation has been opened into the case.
The Executive Director of the Metropolitan Archbishop of Ghana, Dr George Dawson-Ahmoah, has assured that the said priest, if found guilty, will be treated in accordance with the standards and values of the Anglican Communion.
