President Akufo-Addo on Tuesday held a symbolic ceremony in Trede, Atwima-Kwanwoma district, for the official launch of “Agenda 111”, which aims to improve access to health care in across the country.

Arrangements are also made for support facilities such as kitchens, laundry facilities, sterilization and energy centers, with plans to build a mortuary, accommodation for the staff of doctors, nurses and other agents. health.
“Agenda 111 is the biggest investment in health care in Ghanaian history,” noted President Nana Akufo-Addo, adding that the projects would provide around 25,000 jobs for people under construction.
In addition, 20,000 health professionals, including; doctors, nurses and pharmacists are billed to be hired to work in health facilities when completed.
According to the president, the emergence of the Covid-19 pandemic had revealed the unequal distribution of health facilities in the country, a challenge that his administration was committed to solving.
“These projects are carefully executed to have a positive impact on people’s lives,” he said.
President Nana Akufo-Addo, stressing the benefits of “Agenda 111”, stressed that the government had decided to broaden the base of health care coverage for the well-being of the population.
The implementation of the project would make a significant long-term contribution to expanding the training of health professionals and other health professionals, he argued.
He said the vision of making Ghana a medical travel destination would also come with its own benefits of growing the economy at a sizable level, while providing jobs for the people.
The President instructed Ghanaians, in particular the local beneficiary communities, traditional leaders and young people, as well as all actors in the local health sector, to give their full support to the achievement of the government’s mission.
“These are projects aimed at deepening the delivery of health care at all levels of the district and ensuring that Ghanaians can access high quality health services,” he observed.
Minister of Health Kwaku Agyemang-Manu said “Agenda 111” was linked to the government’s policy of providing a hospital in every district and region.

“Agenda 111 presents an unprecedented opportunity to transform the country’s health system and also to create a new standard on the continent,” said the Minister.
Guided by the ambition to define a next-generation hospital experience, he said, the design concept has merged with 21st century technology with a contextual and holistic approach crucial to the delivery of cutting-edge healthcare.
Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene, in a message delivered on his behalf, welcomed the implementation of “Agenda 111”, saying it would help fill the gap in health facilities that the country is currently facing. confronted with.
