NYA congratulates Anglican Communion on firing ‘Holy Kiss’ priest

The National Youth Authority (NYA) commended the Anglican Communion Internal Province of Ghana for the swift sentencing and dismissal of one of its priests, Rev. Father Baltharzar Obeng Larbi, who forcibly kissed some female students .

Reverend Father Larbi was filmed kissing students at St. Monica College of Education in Mampong.

A statement released in Accra by the NYA and copied to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), called on the Ghana Police Service to urgently investigate the case to determine any civil or criminal offenses that could arise from the despicable act. said priest, and apply the sanctions if necessary.

The Authority also implored the Ghana Bar Association of which the priest would be a member, to show good faith and live up to his bill as legitimate guardians of the law by berating Reverend Larbi, whose l action could bring the noble lawyer profession to discredit.

The NYA commended the Anglican Communion for maintaining the high moral standards for which the church was known.

The declaration pledged to continue working and partnering with all well-meaning people and institutions willing to advance the cause of youth development in Ghana.

Meanwhile, authorities at St. Monica’s College of Education in Asante Mampong have started offering counseling services to students who were seen kissed by the school chaplain in the viral video.

At least three female students were kissed on the lips by Reverend Father Obeng Larbi in what school officials described as a “kiss of peace” during a Sunday mass service.

Reverend Larbi, in his defense of the act, claimed that the kiss was meant to show his appreciation and to honor the students who are members of the College’s chaplaincy committee for having distinguished themselves.

The college administration, in consultation with the Anglican Church, has since relieved him of his post after five years of service.
