A 26-year-old man has been lynched while nine people are in critical condition in Assin Bereku in the Central region.
It follows a clash between angry young people and suspected fraudsters over the death of 67-year-old Yaa Badua in the community.
According to the young accused, fraudsters are at the origin of all the thefts, the widespread murder of people and people mysteriously missing in the region.
With the aim of stopping criminal activity in the area, the young people conducted a search in the ghettos where the fraudsters live and found and arrested numerous packages of marijuana, firearms, swords, knives, cell phones, laptops and sent the items to the police and filed a complaint but nothing was done about it.
Agitated by the attitude of the police, the young people clashed with fraudsters.
In the process, some of the boys were attacked with sticks, swords and other weapons, resulting in the death of one person, while nine others were seriously injured.
Assin Praso police intervened and arrested 14 people involved in the investigations as the body was taken to the Assin Fosu mortuary for preservation.
Meanwhile, Assin Bereku’s concerned youth leader William Kweku Mintah Hayford, in an interview, tasked the North Assin District Police with regular patrols in Assin Bereku and surrounding areas to help prevent criminal activity in communities.
